Johan graduated with an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia. After working in a local MNC for eight years, he finally followed his passion and founded Johan Speaking Academy with his co-founder, Ms. Cherry Ho.

Johan has been a guest speaker for Maxis at their nationwide SME Roadshows, speaking in Ipoh, Johor, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, and Penang to more than 1,500 participants. He has also spoken on stage for companies and organizations such as P1, the Malaysian Association of Hotels, PIKOM, Royale Bintang Hotels, Exabytes, GTI Media, Digital Marketing Expo, BRANDS Seminar, SME Accelerator Program, and many more.

One of the highlights of his speaking career was sharing the stage with Malaysia’s fashion icon, Dato’ Bernard Chandran, during an entrepreneur talk.

Johan began speaking at the age of 12 when he participated in a storytelling competition in primary school, which he won. Later, in secondary school, he represented his school as a member of the debate team. Although he had the ability to speak in front of an audience, this passion was put aside during his college and university years.

​

This passion remained dormant for more than 16 years until Johan participated in various speech contests, including Humorous Speech, Evaluation, and the International Speech Contest, where he emerged as both runner-up and champion. The year 2015 marked a major milestone in his journey when he became the champion of the International Speech Contest, earning the opportunity to represent Peninsular Malaysia in Las Vegas, USA, and compete with the world’s best at the World Championship of Public Speaking in August 2015.

Johan believes strongly in lifelong learning and is passionate about imparting his skills and knowledge through public speaking and coaching sessions. He also trains teens and children in public speaking, helping them build confidence and communication skills to accelerate their personal and professional growth.
